The ministry of research, technology and higher education is responsible for improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources, something that has been put as a focus by the national government in 2019.

The ministry kicked off 2019 with a national working meeting held at Diponegoro University in Semarang. The event was themed “research, technology and higher education that are open, flexible and excellent”.

It was joined by around 350 participants from multiple agencies related to science and education across the country, such as university rectors, lawmakers, regional representatives councillors, education and culture attaché and state-run enterprises officials.

Apart from discussing about the outlook for 2019, the meeting also provided opportunities to participants to evaluate the programs and budget management in the previous year. There were also the launching of the agency for university entrance test (LTMPT), the 2019 Award for public relation officials and the LAPOR award.
