HE Minister Mohamad Nasir and Madame Hasbiyah Nasir welcomed His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf and Her Majesty Queen Silvia, from Sweden, at Soekarno Hatta Airport this morning, 21 May 2017.

Indonesia and Sweden expressed their interests to develop collaboration on science, technology and innovation since 2011. Beginning with inviting Dr Sven-Thore Holm CEO LundaVision during the National Technology Days (Hakteknas 2011), up to the signing of the Letter of Intent on Higher Education, Research and Innovation on February 19th, 2017. Following the working visit of HE Minister Nasir, a joint Indonesia Sweden Seminar was conducted at UGM last year, two groups of Indonesians were sent to Lund University, and mobility programs – an exchanged visit of both delegates were conducted several times to Sweden and to Indonesia, for discussing more on the STP development in Indonesia

Tomorrow, there will be a bilateral meeting of two Countries in which Minister Nasir will also attend it. On May 24th, 2017, Insyaa Allah DG Intan Ahmad will participate in the Triple Helix Seminar at ITB, and an MoA on the Development of Education, Training, Entrepreneurship and Science Technology Park might be signed between DG Patdono and Lund University.

While the umbrella G2G agreement on Higher Education and STI is expected to be signed in October 2017.

At the end of this state visit, it is hoped that all of the past, existing collaboration, as well as future cooperation between two Countries will continuously benefit both societies in Indonesia and Sweden.
