Jakarta – The signing of the Letter of Intent (LoI) regarding Research, Technology and Higher Education (RTHE) Cooperation between Indonesia and Armenia, opens the new chapter of cooperation on research and higher education. Minister for Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Mohamad Nasir, and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, were conducting the signing ceremony at Gedung Pancasila, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, on Tuesday (1/11).

Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Retno Marsudi, stated that the signing of the LoI on RTHE Cooperation is a form of relation on people-to-people contact in order to expand and strengthen the cooperation on research and higher education between two countries.

“By having a strong relation on the people‑to‑people contact, it will really facilitate our effort to strengthen the bilateral relation between our two countries.” She emphasized.

Retno Marsudi also added, currently there are 2 (two) Armenian students who are pursuing degree in Indonesia using scholarship from Indonesian Government.

Beside the LoI on RTHE Cooperation, there were also 2 (two) other Memorandum of Understanding(s) (MoUs), which are MoU on Visa Exemptions for Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders and MoU on Cooperation between Ministry of Foreign Affairs from both countries, that were signed by both Minister of Foreign Affairs.

By having the three new documents of cooperation signed, Minister Nasir and Minister Retno Marsudi are confident that both countries will see a better bilateral relation ahead. (wsn/kskp)
